Questions Frequently Asked of VOMCA (and some answers)
Note: An
anonymous complaint is never as effective as a signed complaint. In
some cases the County won't even act if you aren't willing to sign a
complaint.
- Q: I have a tree down or problems with the
open space near my property. Is VOMCA responsible?
A: No. VOMCA is only responsible for the Barlowe Field / Olde Mill Swim
Club area. VOMCA does not own nor maintain any other “open areas” in
the greater Old Mill area. If you have an issue with downed trees or
other open space maintenance please contact Anne Arundel County Public
Works at
410-222-7500 and ask about tree removal. The other county number is
410-222-7349.
- Q: Do I need VOMCA's permission to build or
renovate on my property?
A: No. You are still bound by the need for
County permits depending on the work you are doing. Call
410-222-7730 for more information on Permits.
- Q: My neighbor's pets make a mess/frighten me.
A: You can report them to Animal Control at 410-222-6690.
- Q: My neighbor's lawn needs cutting/trees
need trimming.
A: For extreme cases the County will come and do the work and bill the
homeowner. Call the Tree Removal department at 410-222-7349 for more
information.
- Q: There is constant loud noise/music coming
from my neighbor's house.
A: Call the police (Eastern District) at 410-222-6145.
- Q: My neighbor has a car/van/RV on the street
that never moves.
A: If the car is plated, inspected, and parked properly, there's
nothing you can do. If it's not, call the police (Eastern District) at
410-222-6145.
